Smith girl day out
My lovely sister is pregnant.
She’s due November 30th with her first child, gender currently unknown. She has designed an adorable nursery that is gender neutral, and being a planner like me (runs in the family), she wanted to get some furniture at Ikea. I needed stuff for the downstairs bathroom and finishing touches on my bedroom. I think this week will be home decorating week on Kris Crafts! as I am continuing to knit the very large sweater front for Brad. That gets old.
New at Ikea, they made up a sample craft room/studio – I loved it!

This would have been useful prior to making my own craft room, but I’m happy with it.
Michele got the furniture she needed, I got lots of nice accessories, and we loaded up the car. Then we went to Michaels, where we got more accessories for both the nursery and my bedroom, then off to Target, where we found the perfect rug for the nursery. At that point, I still needed a bathroom medicine cabinet and light (Ikea was disappointing on this point). We were out of room, though:

We dropped off my sister’s car, picked up mine, threw Lani in for good measure, and headed off to Lowes. Lani was her usual rock-star self:

We got what we needed at Lowes, and Brad had the fun of finishing off the bathroom once we got home with all of the supplies. Pictures on that tomorrow.

I could totally move into the craft room there. What a great workspace – and lots of cool storage/organization ideas too.
Wow, that is great news for Michele!
Lani’s so funny, she’s all “wassup my bitches?”
Also, that craft room is so rockin’! It’s like they built it last night for your arrival. *drool* They are so onto something.
OMG that craft room…. I want! And congrats to your sister! = )
Yeah for a new niece or nephew!!! Congratulations to Michelle!
Congrats to your sister! Lani, of course, looks far too adorable in her little sling.
