Re-entry
I am SO not looking forward to work tomorrow. I’ve been unable to keep up with my other projects while I have been gone doing this project, so tomorrow is going to be a bit rough. The plan is to work a half day to make a dent in getting caught up, and then take a half day off with Brad to hang out.
Last weekend I went ATVing with John and the other guys from work that were in Yuma through the weekend. I got thrown (thankfully, clear of the ATV), and I thought I got away with just retweaking my back. After a few days (and worsening pain), I finally went to the emergency room and found out that I managed to bruise my ribs too. After a morphine drip at the hospital, then a steady stream of pain killers and muscle relaxants, I’m at least able to move around, although I’m also highly amusing to be around (so I’m told). I gave my rental car to one of my co-workers for obvious reasons (people from the same company can drive according to our agreements).
So this might explain why I made a bet with a radar guy about the radar he helped to build. I lost every darned bet I made this last week. But anyway, I lost a bet, and ended up having to make a hat:

This was a quickie – 3.75 hours of knitting, charcoal grey Wool-Ease on Addi Turbos US 8. The pattern is the Jacques Cousteau Hat, though now looking at the pattern I think I did the decreases differently. Oh well, no matter. I blame the meds.
It was actually really nice to knock out a quick project. I still need to knit and attach the collar to Vivian (the November sweater), and then barrel through out my last sweater in two weeks. The hat was a nice reminder that I actually LIKE knitting.

Still came out great – that’d be a great holiday gift hat too – quick knitting!
Glad you are back.
You what?! Were thrown from an ATV!
The hat looks great!
Holy smokes, bruised ribs! I now feel slightly worse about calling you a cry baby
