Swatching away
I’ve made two pairs of socks with Socks That Rock, but Fairgrounds is the first mediumweight that I’ve had. I checked my gauge on the two socks I’ve finished, and I knit the lightweight at 8 spi on Addi Turbos US 1 (really a 1.5, 2.5 mm). I swatched the Fairgrounds on three different needles:

The bottom is with an Addi US 2 (really a 2.5, as it is 3 mm), the middle with a Brittany US 2 (2.75 mm), and the Addi US 1. I like the fabric the best on the Brittany, which is about 7.5 spi, but I don’t really want to knit on DPNs. Hopefully I can get a real US 2 circular somewhere. Then of course, figure out what kind of stitch pattern I want!

you’re not going to knit Rock and Weave? I can’t decide what I want to do. ACK! Honestly, I don’t want to swatch socks. Maybe I’ll feel differently by the time I wind the hank.
The colors are really neat! Hopefully there are real US2 circs out there…
I’m knitting Rock & Weave and it’s working out quite nicely for me – if you need real 2.75mm circs, look for either Aero brand or Inox Greys – they also have wonderful points and the joins are pretty wonderful as well.
Thanks for doing this. =D
The colors are brighter than what I usually go for, but I like how it’s variegating.
I love the colors of the fabric!! Very fresh and summery!
